History

The Pan-Asia Farmers Exchange Program began in 2007 to respond to the growing interest of Asian farmers in biotech crops and as a way to share expert and farmer knowledge on biotech crops with other farmers.

What began as a way to share information among farmers is now informing a much broader group of stakeholders on the benefits of biotechnology. Since its inception, the exchange program has expanded to include other stakeholder groups such as regulators, policy makers, journalists, scientists, community workers and students.

The FX Program has been held annually since 2007. The 9th FX Program was held Mar 2-7, 2015 in the Philippines. The CropLife Asia, CropLife Philippines and the Biotechnology Coalition of the Philippines have organized the nine editions of the FX program.
